Boat and PWC insurance is generally not like automobile insurance, so you will not find any state laws that explicitly require it. If however you financed your boat or PWC and have a lein on it, then your funding bank will absolutely require insurance. While law doesn't require that you insure your craft, any smart boater will definitely have insurance. Water is a different beast than the open road and many things are simply out of your control when it comes enjoying your boat or PWC. Not having marine insurance is very silly and ultimately could cost you your favorite recreational toy in the event something happens! Do yourself a favor in get the peice of mind you deserve by insuring your craft!
